Although I had had good races, I had battled through many injuries during my collegiate career and my confidence was low. At Mzk Performance we use a unique system of mental performance support, to ensure that we’re there for you every step of your journey. Our coaching centres around remote video sessions with each client providing counselling, check-ins, and mental skills training. This format allows you to work with us whenever suits your schedule, and wherever your sport takes you.

Our clients often see the most benefit from scheduling their sessions either once a week, or once every two weeks. This allows regular support, with time set aside between sessions for growth and learning. We encourage you to find a regular time-slot to increase consistency and personal development routines.

Mzk Performance is proud to be based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We always list our prices in CAD, offering favourable conversion rates to clients based elsewhere. It’s important to us that you are 100% satisfied with your support from Mzk Performance, and so we offer a full refund policy.

Unfortunately, we do not currently work with clients aged younger than 13 years of age.

What type of clients do you normally support?
We work with many different kinds of athletes, from recreational to professional. Our focus is always on personal growth.

Which apps are used for coaching sessions?
Mzk Performance uses Google Meet to provide our coaching sessions.

How long are the sessions?
Each session is scheduled at 50 minutes, and includes followup tasks.

Will I find online coaching as effective as it would be in person?
More than likely, yes! There are many studies supporting it, and it’s often a better fit for our client’s busy schedules.

Is this the same as counselling or psychotherapy?
It is not. Our coach’s objective is to enhance performance, rather than treating mental illness.

Andrei is a mental performance expert, who holds a Bachelors of Science in Sport Science, and a Masters of Science in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology. After a decade of experience providing sport psychology support to elite athletes, Andrei founded Mzk Performance in 2017 to address outdoor athlete’s need for high quality, evidence based, mental performance coaching. He is a Professor of Sport Science at Douglas College, a Mental Performance Consultant with the Canadian Sports Institute Pacific, and a Professional Member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.

Alongside his work in sport psychology and elite sport, Andrei is a climber and coach with over 15 years experience. His tick-list includes 5.14a (8b+) sport routes, 5.12+ (E7) trad routes, and V9 (7C) boulders, alongside coaching competition climbers at the national & international levels. As a climber, skier, and runner himself, Andrei is uniquely placed to understand the challenges facing outdoor athletes.

Outside of his professional and athletic pursuits, Andrei enjoys drinking tea, reading non-fiction, and petting cats. Having previously lived in the mountains of North Wales, he is currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia. A routine drive from world class climbing destinations such as Squamish, Bishop, and Smith Rock.
